Week Two: Monday, Jan. 16th - Sunday, Jan. 22nd

Updated: Feb 8, 2023

Tuesday, Jan. 17th

Over the weekend, I worked on getting all my equipment and green screen time set up. For equipment, I am renting an URSA Camera, two LED lights and stands.

For my greenscreen time, I am going to record at the same time as my collogues Harold and Kaden. I will actually be helping them with their project as well, helping them with lighting the screen and watching for any other green screen issues. When their session is done, I will be recording my greenscreen shots with their help.

For my actors, I sent out a casting call notice to Colleen Mond, the Production Coordinator for the Department of Performing Arts and Production Design. Within five hours, I already got someone requesting more information for a role in my project.

Everything is going to plan in my project, and now I want to get to interviewing the person who read my casting call, talking to Harold and Kaden, and preparing for my shoot!

Thursday, Jan. 19th:

There are really no other updates from before on what needs to be done, but I will be doing the following today:

Testing the equipment at home to see if everything is working well, and testing my LED lights for the shoot as well

Calling potential actors for my recording process

Reaching back out to Harold and Kaden about Greenscreen Recording time

Saturday, Jan. 21st:

Saturday would have been the day that I recorded my studio project, but the plans really did not follow through unfortunately.

The plan was to record my studio project after Harold and Kaden's greenscreen time. The greenscreen room was reserved from 12pm-5pm, but I was on call to be on set at 10am. As time goes on and we record about seven to eight shots, we finished everything at 7:30pm. This was way longer than I thought it was going to be and it was super unfortunate. It's a little bit of a set back but I know the recording will be done soon. My plan was to record at 2pm or 3pm at the latest, and end at 5pm, but I never got to do that. The only thing I really got out of this experience is just being the Visual Effects/Greenscreen Supervisor for Nyota Providence (the name of the project). To make up for this time, I got in contact with more people to help me on set when it comes time to record, and got my time with my equipment extended until Thursday, but I might be recording on Thursday which might be an issue.. I'll figure this out...

Shown below are behind the scene photos we got from the shoot:
